Abstract

Lighting Solutions in a Circular Economy

- With finite resources and changing global demographic realities, the linear economy model is not sustainable. A circular economy aims to decouple economic growth from the use of natural resources and ecosystems by using those resources more effectively.

- As the world leader in lighting, Signify is taking up the challenge of circular economy and embracing the opportunities that come with it. By definition circular economy is a driver for innovation in material-, component- and product reuse. The more effective use of materials enables to create more value, both by cost savings and by developing new markets or growing existing ones.

- At Signify, our circular economy approach is based on three key pillars – offering our customers highly energy efficient LED products, systems and services as well as innovate business models and, internally, moving to zero carbon and zero waste by 2020.
