As Governor of the Regional Unit of Serres, I am happy to welcome the delegates and participants of the “Balkans & Black Sea Cooperation Forum” in Serres and wish you all an unforgettable stay in our region.
It is an honour for the Region of Central Macedonia and the Regional Unit of Serres to host such a great, innovative and pioneering event, which, in co-organization with Geo Routes Cultural Institute, will provide the opportunity for a fruitful dialogue, aiming at the cooperation among the 17 countries of the Balkans and the Black Sea region.
Therefore, the main challenge of the “Balkans & Black Sea Cooperation Forum” is the common understanding and the multilateral cooperation, based on the stability and extroversion of the private and public sectors.
Thus, a great institutional initiative starts from here, underlining the interest of Serres to support, promote and contribute to the cooperation and constructive dialogue for the benefit of our countries and the prosperity of our people.
I am certain that the conclusions drawn at the conference will be remarkable and extremely useful. The Forum 2017 title “Cultural Tourism | a key to Sustainable Development” provides the opportunity to establish inter & intra-regional tourist routes of thematic interest, attempting to attract visitors who will enjoy common experiences in our countries.
With our partner and co-organizer of the “Balkans & Black Sea Cooperation Forum”, the Geo Routes Cultural Institute that designed and put into practice the cultural heritage routes of Serres,
we warmly welcome you to the land of Alexander the Great and we invite you to explore the enviable beauties, the unique sights, the true colours and the hospitality of the people of Serres.
We are convinced that following your experience in Serres, you will become the best ambassadors of our region!
Mr. Ioannis Moisiadis
Vice-Regional Governor of Serres
Region of Central Macedonia
